Week 10
The Commissioner’s Report, Week 10:
Week 10 is in the books and was capped off with my first genuine tilt of the season as the Bills look completely cooked and had me watching old No Reservations episodes by the 4th quarter (RIP Tony Bourdain). Happy that I was able to eke out a win but I gotta say after finally getting Josh good weapons I hope he’s able to get it together for a playoff run in a contract year for the Oakland Alitas…
Anyways, we are in the last week before the trade deadline and the start of the final push for playoffs. With 8 teams battling for 6 playoff spots and byes wide open, it’s anyone’s guess how things will shake out.

Commish’s Analysis:
After a snoozer of a week 9, week 10 was pretty average scoring-wise, but the results of the slate made for some great action and storylines across the league.
In the Commissioner’s Cup race, the Commish himself took the lead after bouncing back from his first loss since week 3 to just eke one by over Ryan in a stressful Monday night affair. This is Wings’ first lead this season in either standings, and is the fifth different team to take the top spot in a tough CC competition. Josh’s dampened Monday night performance makes it the thinnest possible lead, with only 7 points separating the top 4 and 18 separating the top 7.
Ryan, despite taking a tough loss late Monday night in his fight for playoff seeding, continued to make a big climb on the CC leaderboard, going from 8th to 2nd in the matter of two weeks. Joe also made huge gains after posting his best finish since week 2 and re-enter the top 5. His win over Nauch is huge for the both of them as they sit in similar situations for both the CC and playoffs.
Gio, meanwhile, finds himself out of the lead in both the CC and the Playoff Hunt after another couple of back to back duds. His team looks beatable at the moment and may spur a couple of trades ahead of the deadline, being mostly quiet so far on this front. Chuck, while getting the win and moving to the top of the playoff hunt, lost ground in the CC race with his WRs on bye costing him some points (even Dak’s record-setting performance didn’t completely offset this). Chuck’s failed to score a top 3 finish since week 6, which is likely why there’s a difference here.
Erik, with a big win versus Gio, keeps his playoff hopes alive by virtue of his 5th-highest PF. He now just needs to change his luck with PA. A few of y’all may have been wondering, so I crunched the numbers and Erik’s current PA, while bad, is surprisingly not the worst historically. Back in 2019 poor ol’ sleepy Joe was having a rough go and ended up finishing 2-11 that season.
| Highest PA Through Week 10 | |||||
| Year | 2023 | 2022 | 2021 | 2020 | 2019 |
| PA | 1768.9 (ERK) | 1664.6 (JOE) | 1646.7 (ANT) | 1704.2 (ALX) | 1782.8 (JOE) |
Funnily enough, over the final three weeks that year Joe went from allowing 178 PPG to an ice cold 124.78. Can Erik get the same kind of luck? Probably not lol
