Kicking Off Season 11

Hello Degens. Welcome to the new LOD website; cooked this up over the Summer as a way to procrastinate from my day job before the World Cup came in to take its place. For now, we have the entire League’s blogs archived (if for some reason you’re bored enough to look at those) as well as some League history.

Hope to get a chance to do more with it, but for now enjoy what it has to offer and expect blogs to be pumped out here from me and hopefully Chuck after he stops being mad at me over the green text drama. I swear, I picked the color scheme of the site well before my brother decided to throw a huge wrench of the League.

That being said- we are giving Discord another crack this season, if Chuck decides to rejoin lmao I don’t know the first thing about being a admin there. But hopefully that gets more active during the regular season and we actually get some voice chats going during the Fall.

Anyways, the 4th of July has come and gone so time to get the ball rolling on Season 11! Our celebration of one decade anniversary was a whole bunch of fun; getting an in-person draft together and doing a non-keeper year really threw things back, and on top of that, Erik broke his title-drought going to our first season on Sleeper. Congrats big dawg but just know I’m coming back for my revenge and I know you’re in no position to run anywhere right now with a rubber band holding your knee together. Haha jk though man hoping for a speedy recovery, still praying on your fantasy downfall though.

Between ACL tears, weddings (congrats to Ryan and Soundcloud who both tied the knot this offseason … not to each other), engagements (congrats Erik and Ant… who got engaged to each other), and kids (congrats Chuck!), we get older, life gets more complicated, but fantasy, fantasy never changes.

Enough rambling though. Important information ahead as we find our way back to keepers and make some other announcements on changes to be made. Not gonna vote on any of this cause I don’t want to deal with that and expect you guys to be well adjusted and not cry about it. Chuck and I cooked all this up in the background and think it’ll keep things fresh for the upcoming year and fix some of the problems that persisted through the first Keeper Era.

When is The Draft?

Friday, August 28, 2026; 6PM PT. Let me know if anyone actually can’t make this work. We’ll have Hurtado or the Commissioners take care of your team for you

How are Keepers Gonna Work?

Keeper Deadline is the week before; Friday August 21

How Many Keepers?

Up to 2 keepers. Plenty of good players should still be available at the top of the draft board

How are Keeper Picks Gonna Work?

Your selected Keepers will be compared to their ADP at the deadline and take up the corresponding pick.

  • e.g. A player with a 1st-round ADP uses your 1st-round pick.; A player with a 3rd-round ADP uses your 3rd-round pick.
  • If both keepers have the same-round ADPs, they fill in back-to-back slots (e.g. two second rounders would take up your 2nd and 3rd overall— assuming no multiple picks in same round
  • If If you’ve traded away the draft pick corresponding to a keeper’s ADP, the keeper occupies your earliest available draft slots (e.g. a second rounder would take your first overall if you didn’t have a round 2 pick)

What About Draft Pick Trades?

Draft pick trading will come back after the 2026 draft. Trading will have the following limits imposed to avoid tanking, stockpiling, and dudes ruining their team for the next decade:

  • Trading will be limited to this and the next two draft years (2026-2028)
  • Every team must retain a minimum of 12 draft picks at all times for each draft year
  • Any trade that would leave a team with fewer than 12 picks is automatically voided
  • Joe Rule remains in effect- any excess picks over the max available roster slots are forfeited and must be filled with retired or incarcerated players

How are we Doing Draft Order?

Decided that this year, instead of full random or going by standings, we’re doing a Draft Lottery. Once again to help curb tanking and throwing matches for the first overall pick.

We’re gonna use http://fantasydraftlottery.com with the following conditions:

  • 100 Total Balls
  • Draft odds Based on playoff finish for the top 6 teams and regular season finish for the bottom 4. Each team will have the following # of balls (% chance of the #1 overall pick):
    1. Erik (1 Ball)
    2. Wings (3 Balls)
    3. Chuck (5 Balls)
    4. Gio (7 Balls)
    5. Ant (9 Balls)
    6. Bryan (11 Balls)
    7. SoundCloud (13 Balls)
    8. Ryan (17 Balls)
    9. Rob (17 Balls)
    10. Nauch (17 Balls)

I’ll live stream the draft on Discord later this Month- will make sure to keep a recording of it after for rewatch.

Are we still Keeping Divisions?

Yes but we’re gonna switch things up a bit for funsies- the new Divisions are below:

PGLangOVO
Gio
Roberto
Ryan
SoundCloud
Wings
Ant
Bryan
Chuck
Erik
Nauch

How Will The Schedule Work?

Same as last year. 2 division round-robins, 5 inter-divisional matches and 1 rivalry week. Schedule will be revealed later this month after the Draft Lottery.

So who are Rivals with the new Divisions?

Wings v Erik; Chuck v Gio; Rob v Bryan will continue their rivalry matches as classic fixtures

  • SCG v Nauch will now pair up as rivals in the Rice Men Bowl
  • Ant v Ryan will reignite their old Battle of Colorado as The Mountain West Showdown

What About The Wild Card

The Wild Card will stay in place to give the mid-table teams more incentive to compete for a playoff spot.

Anything Else Changing?

Yes

Roster/Bench Changes

Rosters will also remain the same, but we are cutting bench slots from 8 to 6 for a total of 16 slots. This will make the waiver wire / FAAB bidding a bit more interesting as well as making managers have to think about who their lottery ticket stash is. Keep an eye on those bye weeks..

Buy-Ins

And finally, to keep up with inflation, buy-ins are increasing from $70 to $100, payouts will also change a bit more:

Commissioner’s Cup

  • First Place: $125
  • Second Place: $75
  • Third Place: $50

Playoff Bracket:

  • Champion: $500
  • Runner-Up: $200
  • Third Place: $50

OK. Long post but that’s it for now! Will catch y’all soon for the draft lottery, schedule release and some more preseason hype. Peace.
