Week 5 Power Rankings

The regular season is just about a quarter of the way through and there’s a rough feel for where each team stands in the pecking order; and things are starting to look a little top-heavy record-wise. A couple of teams made statement wins (and losses) this week, but overall not much movement in rankings. Four of the top five, however, play each other this week which could greatly shake things up.

Rank. Team (W-L) (Strk) (∆)

Tier 1

1. Gio 👑👑👑 (3-1) (L1) (-)

Happy belated Gio, hope you enjoyed the 2 hot steaming Ls I served up for you in both our leagues. Despite the loss and his entire WR squad taking a fat shit, Gio still leads the league in PF (720) and PPG (180) through the first four weeks. Gio should bounce back fine, but Juju is starting to look more and more like a risky play with Mason Rudolph’s lack of deep passing. The sting of missing Dalvin may also be starting to set in (it definitely is for me).

2. Erik 👨 🎤 (3-1) (W1) (-)

Erik indeed bounced back last week, beating Ant as I expected, but did not put up a convincing amount of numbers on the board in doing so, with most points coming from CMC and the Patriots’ ridiculous defense. Like Gio, Erik’s pass catchers should all have better weeks and hopefully will get TY back for this next juicy matchup vs Joe and 4.

Tier 2

3. Roberto 👌 (3-1) (W3) (-)

Sheesh, what an ass clenching victory to come out with Monday night as James Conner had himself a great game. Crazy to see what happens when Padstat Mahomes doesn’t drop a 40 burger. It’s looking more like trading away Mixon was a great idea, and that extra WR in Josh Gordon is helpful with injuries starting to nag at his depth. Roberto gets to face Chuck this week in what I hope is the most entertaining game of the year so far from a shit talking perspective.

4. Nauch 🏾 (3-1) (W1)(-)

A good week for the Ram, who erupted behind Chubb and his LA squad to put a whooping on the surging Alex’s win streak and keep up with the league leaders. A couple weeks ago I mentioned Nauch and Gio this week would be a key matchup to watch, and with both coming in at 3-1 have a lot to gain and lose. Can Nauch buck the rollercoaster and legitimize his team?

5. Cuck 🚫🔁 (3-1) (W2) (+1)

Rounding out the 3-1 squad is Chuckie, who, as Hurtado aptly puts it,”fucking works up voodoo black magic and it works. Then his advice is trash.” The voodoo magic continues with Chuckles putting up the highest score of the week (on a low-scoring week overall) and and the 5th-highest score this season, anchored by strong performances from his QBs and Receivers. With Bell back in the lineup, Chuck has a solid shot at ending Roberto’s 3-0 streak and continuing his own.

Tier 3

6. Wings 💦 (1-3) (W1) (+4)

The Champion has risen from the ashes, poetically knocking off Gio and ending anyone’s hopes of an undefeated season while rescuing his own from the brink; despite nearly choking away the win from an extremely stupid benching. I go into next week without Kerryon and likely Adams, which means a tough matchup even though I am facing Alex.

7. Ant 😐 (1-3) (L1) (-)

Last week Russ went off, this week Gallman went off, if Ant pulls off another trade this week, expect that player to also score a lot. Unfortunately, Russ did not repeat his performance from week 3 and causes Ant to lose what was an honestly winnable game vs Erik. With Hurtado slowly gaining strength, Ant’s next matchup is also looking like it can swing either way.

8. Joe and 4️⃣ (-)

Ladies and gentlemen, our first nominee for toughest loss of the season (end of season awards are FOR SURE gonna happen guys). I’m sure Joe was happy to see James Conner do well and the Steelers to finally get a win, but running it out at the end of the game basically cost him a win and now stands as the only team in this league still looking for a perfect season. Joe’s team is absolutely better than his record shows, but I can only justify keeping him out of the 10 hole for so long. With Erik up next, I think I should get the 5 emote pulled up stat.

9. Alex 📉 (2-2) (L1) (-4)

After riding high with 2 wins, Alex comes crashing back down to Earth along with Dak and Engram to put up the second-lowest score of the week. Unfortunately, Alex will have no advice this week as he plays me, and I would very much like to make us both 2-3 by Monday.

10. Hurtado 📽 (1-3) (-1)

Extreme yikes @ this team’s performance last week. Hurtado now sits at last in PPG (139) and PF (564). While getting Gordon back is great, this essentially just replaces Ekeler. Hurtado sorely needs his top wideouts, or any of his 5 injured receivers for that matter, to get healthy asap. A matchup vs Ant is just about the best scenario he can have this week; next week may see Herndon, Terry and Tyreek back in his lineup.
