What a wild finish to week 4. 3 matchups were up in the air until Patrick Mahomes remembered he’s hot shit and led a 4th quarter comeback to put a dagger in the hearts of the Denver Broncos and 3 of our poor league mates. To those who won.. enjoy your praise below.
Tier 1
(–) 1. GANG GANG (4-0)
W4 Result: W vs Weege 171.4-160
Standing: 1st in Personality, 2nd in PF (649.2)
Next Week’s Opponent: Hurtado (1-3)
My Thoughts: It’d be an understatement to say that Kareem Hunt bailed Joe out of an embarrassing L, but that’s enough to give him the number 1 again, and for the first time we have someone retaining it more than a week. Adam Thielen remains your rock and the return of Bell means your days of James Conner RB1 may be numbered. Joe finally showed vulnerability this week, and arguably has the toughest challenges ahead as he faces the league’s top scorers in the coming weeks.
(–) 2. Single Erik (3-1)
W4 Result: W vs Nauch 173.2-149
Standing: 1st in A&T, 1st in PF (703.6)
Next Week’s Opponent: Gio (2-2)
My Thoughts: I’m sorry for doubting the power of Single Erik this week. Super Kamario’s feat against the giants all but destroyed the lead Nauch had built Thursday night and the awakening of Travis Kelce in the 4th quarter all but iced it. I’m marking my calendar for week 7 when he finally gets to take on Joe. Cuffing season is coming up and Erik’s curiouscat has never been more active.. he needs to tread lightly if he wants to continue to dominate here and in dynasty.
(+2) 3. 3A (3-1)
W4 Result: W vs Ant 187.7-141.8
Standing: 2nd in Personality, 5th in PF (703.6)
Next Week’s Opponent: Nauch (2-2)
My Thoughts: Gah damn. I didn’t think my team was about to go OFF off. My team was a well-oiled machine this week, dropping the highest score of anyone and with all of my starters contributing to the massacre. Can I sustain this? My 5th-best PF tells me odds are I’ll be regressing to the mean soon, but I’ll enjoy my life in the upper tier while it lasts.
Tier 2
(-1) 4. Team Slap Ass (2-2)
W4 Result: L vs Tootie 175-162.4
Standing: 3rd in Personality, 3rd in PF (624.6)
Next Week’s Opponent: Erik (3-1)
My Thoughts: Another week, another loss with Gio’s bench players going off. He at least didn’t drop Yeldon after Fournette announced he’d play and Alshon looks like a must-start after his first game back, so he at least has some depth to recover from losing to an 0-3 team. The fantasy gods are cruel, though, and have Gio against Erik next week. He’s the best 2-2 team this week, lets hope he doesn’t become the best 2-3 team.
(-1) 5. Toe Goblin (2-2)
W4 Result: L vs Alas 141.8-187.7
Standing: 2nd in A&T, 4th in PF (678.1)
Next Week’s Opponent: BYE Week
My Thoughts: Damn. Ant’s team suffered at the hands of a Drew Brees dookie drop and yet more injury issues with Gronk exiting the game early. Further injuries continue to plague and with Tyler Efiert out for the season. Freeman and Mixon may come back next week and Cory Davis looks like THE guy to own in Tennessee, so not all hope is lost that his team will bounce back to top form.
(–) 6. BDE (2-2)
W4 Result: L vs Erik 149-173.2
Standing: 3rd in A&T, 7th in PF (530.8)
Next Week’s Opponent: Wing$ (3-1)
My Thoughts: The final scoreline does not do justice about how close Nauch was to winning this matchup and making a statement in the league after using his last trade of the season. Not even the Rams’ offensive explosion could prevent Erik’s large dick from entering his mouth by the time the Sunday afternoon games showed up. However, with Bell rumored to return, Nauch may end up having the last laugh.. and the longest schlong.
Tier 3
(+1) 7. Brown Town (1-3)
W4 Result: W vs Gio 175-162.4
Standing: 4th in Personality, 6th in PF (576.9)
Next Week’s Opponent: Joe (4-0)
My Thoughts: As much as watching a 4-0 vs 0-4 battle would have been, I’m proud that Hurtado finally got the W he needed to stop him from being all mopey in the group chat. Patty Mahomes is your now savior, your waiver wire prowess is starting to show with Tyler Boyd shining, Deandre is looking like Deandre and you finally get much needed RB help with the return of Mark Ingram. This might be the inflection point in your season where you regress to a better record that you undoubtedly deserve.. you do have a tall order to beat Joe next week. Good luck.
(-1) 8. SDN (2-2)
W4 Result: W vs Roberto 125-85.9
Standing: 4th in A&T, 8th in PF (500.1)
Next Week’s Opponent: Weege (1-3)
My Thoughts: U really don’t deserve to be 2-2 but hey I dont make up the rules I just write blogs. This is by far Chuck’s worst start to the season and people are ready to count him out. So, in true Pats fashion I still fully expect him to find a way to make it to the championship again, as preposterous as it sounds. But this is Chuckie, and that is what Chuckie does, I will, for now though, laugh at the fact his team is garbagio.
Tier 4
(–) 9. Weege (1-3)
W4 Result: L vs. Joe 160-171.4
Standing: 5th in A&T, 9th in PF (476.6)
Next Week’s Opponent: Chuck (2-2)
My Thoughts: And to think I thought you had a shot at winning. smh. Weege’s team looks eons better with his recent transactions (aside from Drake looking like a mega-bust) so he honestly might be on the come-up as well. He will be at his saltiest this week though, with a matchup against his hated rival Chuck coming next week and a chance to leapfrog the defending champ in the power rankings.
(–) 10. SD69ers (0-4)
W4 Result: L vs. Chuck 85.9-125
Standing: 5th in Personality, 10th in PF (451.6)
Next Week’s Opponent: Ant (2-2)
My Thoughts: Erik, please tell your mans he is not allowed to Taco out of this league so early. With Roberto being the last winless team and by far looking like the worst, it’s time to put in some work to turn this team around (and not get trade raped.. please no). The countdown is on to see who gives this poor bastard his first win, nobody in the league is safe (yet).
