The Rules
Below are the Official Rules of the League of Degenerates. These rules have been adopted in principle and are officially agreed to and effective on August 15, 2020. And have been amended on the below dates:

ARTICLE I: League Structure
- The official name of this League is the “League of Degenerates”
- The League is composed of ten Teams with no divisions.
- Each Team is managed by one Owner, one Owner cannot manage more than one Team within the League.
- The League is led by the Commissioner. The Commissioner must be one of the active Owners in the League.
- The Commissioner is granted control over and has authority to make changes to League Settings as outlined in the Rules and Bylaws. The Commissioner is also responsible for resolving disputes as outlined in the Rules and Bylaws.
- The Commissioner has sole power to break ties in votes related to League Matters
- The Commissioner can be put on impeachment trial with the votes of 5 owners. Once the Commissioner has had a fair trial to hear both cases, the league may vote to remove with the votes of 8 owners.
- The addition of a Commissioner, or a transfer of Commissioner power due to impeachment or resignation, must be approved by at least eight Owners.
- The Vice Commissioner of the League is Second-in-Command and exercises the Commissioner’s duties in their absence or when powers are delegated to them. The Vice Commissioner is decided during every Offseason by League Vote
- In the event that an Owner leaves or is removed from the league, a Replacement Owner will be nominated by the Commissioner; the Replacement Owner must be approved by a majority of remaining Owners. The Replacement Owner inherits the team as is.
ARTICLE II: League Traditions
- The League predates the adoption of these Rules and Bylaws.
- The official Founding Season of this League is the 2016 NFL Season.
- The history, rules and structure of this League, from the Founding Season to the adoption of this document, that is generally accepted by its Owners, is recognized as League Traditions.
- League Traditions are recognized as part of the official history of this league as outlined by Article II.
ARTICLE III: League Host Platform and Settings
- The League is Host Platform is Sleeper: https://sleeper.app/leagues/517234930749452288
- The settings outlined in Articles III-XI are officially recognized as League Settings.
- League Settings are to be implemented on the Host Platform to the maximum ability possible.
ARTICLE IV: League Year
- The League Year runs the length of the calendar year, and starts on the First of January.
- The League Year is split into three segments: Offseason, Regular Season, and Postseason.
- The Offseason begins at the start of the League Year and is in effect until the League Year’s draft has concluded.
- The Regular Season begins at the conclusion of the League Year’s draft and is in effect until the final game of Week fourteen of the NFL Regular Season has concluded.
- The Postseason begins at the conclusion of the final game of Week fourteen of the NFL Regular Season and is in effect until the start of the new League Year.
ARTICLE V: Roster Settings
- A Team’s Roster consists of twenty-one total spots: ten starters, eight bench spots, and three injured reserve spots.
- A Team’s Starters are to be filled by the following positions as defined by the Host Platform: one QB, two RBs, two WRs, one TE, two FLEX (WR/RB/TE), one K, and one DEF.
- A Team’s Bench Spots are to be filled by players of any position available and of any status, subject to positional limits in the Host platform.
- Injured Reserve are to be filled by players designated as PUP, Out, Suspended, IR or COVID-19 by the Host Platform. Players designated as Doubtful, DNR, NA or Retired are not eligible for Injured Reserve.
- Roster Settings are in effect and do not change throughout the League Year.
ARTICLE VI: Keeper Settings
- The League officially uses the Keeper format as defined by the Host Platform.
- At the beginning of the Offseason, an Owner may designate a player as a Keeper if they were on their Team’s Roster after the previous season’s Trade Deadline.
- An Owner must designate at least one player as a Keeper, who will take the place of a Team’s first overall pick in the next closest League Draft.
- An Owner may designate up to three players as Keepers, who will take the place of a Team’s second and third overall picks, respectively, in the next closest League Draft.
- An Owner must submit their Keepers, in writing, to the Commissioner no later than noon Pacific Time 7 days before the League’s Draft.
ARTICLE VII: Draft Settings
- A Draft will be held every League Year no earlier than six weeks from the beginning of the NFL Regular Season.
- All players available in the Host Platform, minus any players designated as Keepers, are draft-eligible.
- The Draft is in Snake format as defined by the Host Platform.
- During the Draft, Teams will have two minutes per pick. If time expires, the Team will automatically pick a player as defined by the Host Platform.
- If a player has more draft picks than roster spots available, any additional picks are forfeited. Once a roster has been completed, teams must not draft any players that appear on ESPN’s PPR Top 300 as of Draft Day.
- Draft order is determined randomly and must be set no earlier than 24 hours before the Draft.
ARTICLE VIII: Trade Settings
- A Team may trade either players on their Roster or their FAAB dollars. Draft pick trading may occur during the 2024 offseason.
- There is no limit on the number of parties that can partake in a single trade.
- The Trade Deadline is midnight Pacific Time twenty-one days before the end of the Regular Season.
- After the Deadline, no trades may be completed until the New League Year.
- Trades are to be processed instantly during the Regular Season.
- The Commissioner has sole power to reverse a trade. The Commissioner may reverse a trade if and only if there is reasonable evidence of Collusion.
ARTICLE IX: Player Acquisition Settings
- Players may not be added from Free Agency to a Team’s Roster during the Offseason.
- At the conclusion of the Draft, all players not on a Team’s Roster are considered Free Agents.
- At the conclusion of the Draft, any player dropped off of a Team’s roster will be placed on Waivers for two days before being considered a Free Agent.
- During gameplay, all players not on Rosters will be placed on Waivers as defined by the Host Platform. Players will clear Waivers Wednesday at 12AM Pacific Time or as defined by the Host Platform.
- After Waivers clear, Teams may not acquire any additional Free Agents until 9AM Pacific Time that same day. Any players acquired before 9AM may be dropped to Free Agency by the Commissioner.
- For Weekly Waivers, the League utilizes the Free Agent Acquisition Budget (FAAB) method as defined by the Host Platform. Members have an annual budget of $150 to bid on Waivers.
ARTICLE X: Regular Season, Postseason and Matchup Settings
- The Regular Season runs from the Draft through the first fourteen weeks of the NFL season.
- The Regular Season schedule is randomly generated by the Host Platform at the conclusion of the Draft.
- Regular Season standings are determined by the Host Platform. In the event of a tie in the Regular Season standings, the tiebreaker is determined by overall PF as defined by the Host Platform.
- The Postseason lasts from week 14 to week 17, with one matchup per round.
- At the end of the regular season, the top 5 teams based on standings will qualify for playoffs. Of the remaining teams, the 6th seed will be awarded to the one with the most PF at the end of the Regular Season.
- In the event of a scoring tie in a playoff matchup, the tiebreaker will be determined by the Regular Season Head-to-Head record between both teams involved. If their Head-to-Head record is tied, then a winner is determined by total PF in their head-to-head matchups.
- Bench players may not be dropped during gameplay.
- After the Trade Deadline passes, if an Owner is out of playoff contention, or a loss would put them out of playoff contention, and is involved in a matchup directly impacts playoff seeding, the Owner cannot deliberately make roster moves with the intent of purposefully losing that matchup (“Match Throwing”). The Commissioner has final authority to determine if Match Throwing has occurred, and resolve the issue as they see fit.
ARTICLE XI: Scoring Settings
- Scoring Settings are in effect and do not change throughout the League Year.
- Scoring Settings are defined by the Host Platform.
- PASSING: 1 point every 10 Yards (0.1 per yard), 6 points per Passing TD, 2 points per 2-Pt Conversion, -2 points per Interception, 2 bonus points per Completion over 40 yards, 2 bonus points per Touchdown over 40 yards
- RUSHING: 1 point every 10 Yards (0.10 per yard), 6 points per Rushing TD, 2 points per 2-Pt Conversion, 2 bonus points per rush over 40 yards, 2 bonus points per TD over 40 yards
- RECEIVING: 1 point per reception, 1 point every 10 yards (0.10 per yard), 6 points per receiving TD, 2 points per 2-Pt Conversion, 2 bonus points per reception over 40 yards, 2 bonus points per TD over 40 yards
- KICKING: 3 points per FG Made 0-39 yards, 4 points per FG Made 40-49 yards, 5 points per FG made 50+ yards, 1 point per made PAT, -1 point per missed FG (with an additional -3 points for missed FG 0-39 yards, -2 points for missed FG 40-49 yards, -1 point for missed FG 50+ yards), -1 point per missed PAT
- TEAM DEFENSE: 6 points per Defense TD, 5 points for 0 PA, 4 points for 1-6 PA, 3 points for 7-13 PA, 1 points for 14-20 PA, 0 points for 21-27 PA, -1 points for 28-34 PA, -4 points for 35+ PA; 4 points for 0-100 YA, 3 points for 100-199 YA, 2 points for 200-299 YA, 1 points for 300-349 YA, 0 points for 350-399 YA, -1 points for 400-449 YA, -2 points for 450-499 YA, -3 points for 500-549 YA, -5 points for 550+ YA, 1 point per sack, 2 points per interception, 1 point per forced fumble, 2 points per fumble recovery, 2 points per safety, 2 points per blocked kick
- SPECIAL TEAMS DEFENSE: 6 points per ST TD, 1 point per forced fumble, 1 point per fumble recovery
- SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER: 6 points per ST TD, 1 point per forced fumble, 1 point per fumble recovery
- ALL PLAYERS: -1 point per fumble, -1 point per fumble lost, 2 points per 100-199 Yard Rushing Game, 4 points per 200+ Yard Rushing Game, 2 points per 100-199 Yard Receiving Game, 4 points per 200+ Yard Receiving Game, 2 points per 300-399 Yard Passing Game, 4 points per 400+ Yard Passing Game, 2 points for 25+ pass completions, 2 points for 20+ carries
- IDP: 6 points per TD, 1 point per Sack, .5 points per tackle, 2 points per blocked punt, PAT or FG, 2 points per forced fumble, 2 points per fumble recovery
ARTICLE XII: Changing Settings or Rules
- The Commissioner may call for an Owners Meeting at any time to propose and vote on rule changes.
- The Commissioner must call at least one Owners Meeting every offseason.
- An Owners meeting must have at least seven Owners present.
- Rule changes or changes to League Settings require the approval of a majority of voting Owners.
- A Rule Change may not be proposed for more than 2 consecutive offseasons. If a rule change is rejected a second time, it cannot be proposed the following season.
- In emergency cases, the Commissioner may call for a rule change at any time and requires the approval of a majority of voting Owners.
ARTICLE XIV: League Awards
- League Awards include cash prizes from League Dues and the Championship Trophy.
- Owners are expected to contribute League Dues every year. The Commissioner is responsible for the collection and re-distribution of League Dues.
- League Dues are set at $70 to be collected in full before the first game of Week 1 of the Regular Season. Failure to do so may result in the disqualification of Owners in default from any League Awards.
- The re-distribution of League Dues are set as follows: the LOD Champion is awarded $430 and Runner-up $70. The Commissioner’s Cup Champion is awarded $100, the runner-up $70, and third place $30. The Commissioner must distribute League Dues to these Owners no later than 15 days after the beginning of the Offseason.
- The Champion is awarded the Championship Trophy, as defined by League Traditions.
- The Commissioner is responsible for the addition of the new Champion’s Name, Team, and Year to the Championship Trophy, but may delegate another Owner to do so. The Commissioner will also add a commemoration of a significant League event at the end of every Season.
- At the end of the Regular Season, whoever is in last place in the League Standings is subject to a punishment from the League: a Restaurant Challenge of the League Winner’s Choosing
ARTICLE XV: Commissioners Cup
- Beginning in 2023, the League will compete in a tournament spanning the LOD Regular Season
- This tournament shall be called “The Commissioner’s Cup”
- At the end of each week of the regular season, Owners are awarded points based on their Team’s weekly PF relative to the rest of the League. Point distributions are as follows: the top PF scorer of the week is awarded 24 points, second place is awarded 18 points, third place is awarded 15 points, fourth place is awarded 12 points, fifth place is awarded 10 points, sixth place is awarded 8 points, seventh place is awarded 6 points, eighth place is awarded 4 points, ninth place is awarded 2 points, last place is awarded 1 point; an additional point is awarded for an Team winning their weekly matchup
- If, in a given week, two or more teams are in a PF tie, all teams involved will be assigned the highest placement of the group and the corresponding point totals, this does not include the bonus point, which is only awarded if a team wins their matchup
- At the end of the regular season, whoever has the most points collected is declared the Commissioner’s Cup Champion. Cash prizes are awarded to the Champion as well as the Runner-Up and Third Place.
- In the event two or more teams are tied in Commissioner’s Cup points at the end of the Regular Season, the tiebreaker order is as follows: Total PF in the Regular Season, Regular Season W-L record, and coin flip
